Our website is hosted by Ghost. Ghost may collect data as part of its hosting services. For more information on how Ghost handles personal data, please review their Privacy Policy.

4. Payment Processing

Homestead Horizon uses Stripe as our secure payment gateway for online transactions. Stripe collects and processes your payment details on our behalf while prioritising the security and confidentiality of your financial information. We encourage you to review Stripe’s Privacy Policy to understand how Stripe manages and protects your payment data.

Email Preferences and Unsubscribing You may unsubscribe from our newsletters and all non‑essential email communications at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link included in our emails, or via your portal on our site. Unsubscribing will stop all marketing and content‑related emails; however, it does not delete your account, and your email address will remain on record as part of your membership.

If you are a Contributor Member (paid subscription), you will continue to receive essential transactional emails related to your account, such as payment confirmations, renewal notices, failed payment alerts, and trial‑ending reminders. These communications are necessary for the administration of your membership and cannot be disabled.

If you wish to permanently delete your account and remove your email address and associated usage data from our records, please contact us at homesteadhcommunity@gmail.com. Once your account is deleted, all personal data stored in our system will be removed in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Where material changes occur, we will notify users via their registered account email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

9. Paid Advertisements

To help support our mission of inspiring homesteading and sustainable living, Homestead Horizon may periodically utilise paid advertising on certain platforms. 11. Login Management

Homestead Horizon uses Ghost’s secure, password‑free authentication system. To protect your account and personal data, we do not use traditional passwords. Instead, all sign‑in and sign‑up processes are completed through email‑based authentication, which may include a combination of:

  • Direct access (magic) links sent to your email address
  • One‑time login codes generated by Ghost and delivered to your inbox

These methods reduce the risks associated with password storage and help ensure that only the email owner can access the account.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account, as access to it enables access to your Homestead Horizon membership.

If you experience any issues signing in or require assistance, please contact us at homesteadhcommunity@gmail.com.

12. Payment Receipts and Transaction Notifications

For your convenience and in line with our commitment to transparency, we automatically send transactional emails via our Stripe payments integration. Additionally, we proactively keep you informed by sending a reminder email 7 days before your free trial ends, as well as notifications about expiring cards on file and any failed payments. These communications help you manage your account smoothly, ensuring that you are always in the loop with all essential account updates. Please note that these emails cannot be turned off for Contributor members due to their administrative importance.

Should you require further information or if you have any queries about your transactions, please do not hesitate to contact us at homesteadhcommunity@gmail.com.
